The
Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Eric Opoku Aning, and the Catholic Faithful of
St. Arnold Janssen Parish at Kranka paid a special visit to the Frankmay
Orphanage Home in Techiman. The Parish made this visit to the Orphanage
and donated assorted foodstuffs, mosquito nets, and clothing to the
orphanage. This work of mercy was part of the schedule for the Tenth
Anniversary Celebration of the Catholic Diocese Techiman. Each parish in
the diocese is expected to do similar charitable works as part of the
church’s ministry of charity to the poor, the marginalized, and the
imprisoned. The Bishop, on behalf of the Diocese of Techiman, will later
in the month of May, make a presentation to the Yeji Prisons.
Rev. Fr. Eric Opoku Aning, and a good number of the Parishioners of
Kranka, celebrated Holy Mass with the children and caretakers of the
orphanage home. Fr. Eric thanked God for the gift of the orphanage home
and praised the Proprietors for their good vision and love for the
marginalized and orphaned. He prayed for the children and asked God to
touch the hearts of many to come to the aid of the orphanage.
The Frankmay Orphanage is a private Orphanage home for orphaned and
abandoned children in Techiman Municipality. it is owned by Mr. Francis
Apus and his wife Mrs. Mary Wuntimah Apus. The Director of the home, Mr.
Francis Apus, thanked Fr. Eric and his parishioners for the great act
of generosity shown them. According to Mr. Francis, the home started in
2007. Ghanaians including organizations come to their aid. Fr. Eric
blessed the children and wish them well in their growth.
