Amanten is 34 km from Amanten and 22km from Ejura in the Ejura-Sekyere Dumasi District. Administratively, Amanten combines with Amanten to form the Amanten-Amantin district in the Brong-Ahafo region of Ghana. Amanten, according to the 2010 Population and Housing Census, has a population of 11,697.
The Catholic Church was introduced in Amanten around 1960 by three men: Opanin Kwasi Addai, Charles Kofi Nsia and Agya Fudu. One Mr. Osei and Mr. Kwame Boateng were also instrumental figures in the development and growth of the church and catholic faith at that time. Their first place of worship was the then Anglican Primary five (5) classroom. Mr. Oppong acted as the first catechist. Amanten became an outstation under Jamasi Parish and later under Mampong Parish when the Konongo Mampong Diocese was created. When Amanten Parish was created in 1971, with its first resident priest, Rev.
Fr. Martin Buckley, Amanten became its outstation. It was during Rev. Fr. Martin Buckley’s time that the first Church building was constructed which got demolished in 1991. Current Chapel was constructed in 1995 under the late Rev. Fr. Francis Asare – Bediako.
Amanten was made a Quasi Parish in 2017, and its first Pastor was Rev. Fr. Enoch Duah.
