New Longoro was the capital of the No Traditional Council and it is along a major trunk road to Wa. It shares boundaries with Bamboi parish to the north (Northern Region; Damongo Dioceses; Bole District), Kintampo parish to the east, Jema parish and Kranka parish to south east, Wenchi parish to the south and Nsawkaw parish to the south west. it has a population of about 1,671.
Holy Family Rectorate, New Longoro was created when the late Most Rev. James James Owusu appointed Fr. Otmar Auinger, SVD to be in charge in 1998. New Longoro which was then under Wenchi Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani. It was created out of Wenchi and Kintampo parishes.th Catholic faith in New Longoro was started by one Thomas Sahene who happened to become the Omanhene and President of the Mo Traditional Council.
New Longoro came to belong to the Kintampo Deanery when Techiman Diocese was created in 2007. The Parish has St. Arnold Janssen Carpentry run by the SVD District of Brong Ahafo. It trains youth in the area and beyond who want to skills as carpenters. The Rectorate has within its borders one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country, FULLER FALLS at one of our outstations at Yabraso on the Kintampo road.
