The mission of the DDO is to work to promote human dignity, social justice and peace by preferentially empowering the marginalized and the disadvantaged to improve their living conditions through participatory process. It works to address conditions of hunger, poverty and ignorance and human suffering due to emergencies. The DDO is the official wing of the Catholic Secretariat responsible for the integral development of the human person.
As part of our plans and effort to make the Diocese a self-reliant Church capable of responding to emergencies and integral human development issues in the light of the Gospel and the Social Teachings of the church, the DDO was made the Official Caritas Office of the Diocese with the task to making the Formation and Inauguration of Caritas-Techiman, a Tenth Anniversary Project of the Bishop.
